VASSAR - 08/24/2007

The Cardinals opened thier 2007 season at home against Vassar on Friday night.  It was a hard fought game in the mud as both teams struggled to handle the ball all  night.  The Vassar Vulcans came out on top  in this one 21-13.  The Cardinals fell short of tying the score by fumbling inside the 20 yard line twice on Friday and were not able to recover.  The Cardinals open their conference schedule this week at Merrill on Thursday night at 7pm because of the holiday weekend.

MERRILL - 08/30/2007

The Cardinals opened their conference schedule at Merrill.  The game turned out to be an offensive showcase as the two teams combined for nearly 1000 yards of offense.  the difference in the game was the inability for the Cardinals to convert on the point after attempts,  missing 4 on the night.  The Cardinals were led by the rushing of QB Joe Lindloff and the RB Caleb Dietrich as the accumulated 184 and 164 yards respectively on the night. Dietrich scored 4 of the 5 touchdowns on the evening.  The loss drops the Cards to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

VALLEY LUTHERAN - 09/07/2007

The Chargers came out strong in the first half as the Cardinals hosted thier cross town Lutheran rivals.  Valley took a 14-0 lead into halftime.  The Cardinal defense spear-headed the comeback  in the second half as Valley was not allowed a first down in the final two quarters and did not score.  While the defense shut down the Chargers the offense started to click and ran up and down the field to post a 20-14 win.  This win puts the Cardinals at 1-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

ITHACA - 09/14/2007

The Cardinals hosted the Ithaca Yellowjackets who are the defending conference champions on Friday night.  The Cardinal defense picked up right where it left off in week three, holding the yellowjackets to 7 points through three quarters.  It was a hard, hitting well played game on both sides just like the old Ithaca/MLS games.  Eventually Ithaca´s size wore the Cardinals down as they scored twice in the 4th quarter to win the game.  This loss puts the Cardinals at 1-3 and 1-2 in conference play as we enter into the mid-way week of the season.
