Grade School Basketball Tournaments

Every year MLS hosts a girls' grade school and boys'  grade school basketball tournament. All students have the opportunity to volunteer to help out at these tournaments. They may help sell tickets, run concession stands, run the score boards or may help in many other ways. Follow this link for more information.

Project Read

Senior students at MLS have the opportunity to read with a young partner on Tuesday nights all year at nearby Butman-Fish library.

Science & Fine Arts Fair

Each year MLS hosts Lutheran elementary school students who participate in a science and fine arts fair. Competition takes place in art, forensics, mathematics, music, science and spelling.

Big Brother/Big Sister

During the summer our dean of students notifies all new students that an older student volunteer has been assigned to them as part of our big brother/big sister program. We encourage new students to ask many questions of the student who already knows MLS. The big brother or sister is given time on the first day of school to show the new student around. They are there to help new students during their first weeks at our school.

Compassionate Care

MLS students have the opportunity to be matched up with a conversation partner once a week all year at Compassionate Care, a nearby skilled-care nursing home.
