Volunteer Weekend & Synod Convention Volunteer Opportunities

The Third Annual MLS Volunteer Weekend will be held on Friday and Saturday July 17 and 18.  We’ll be starting the day off at 8:00 am and ending with supper.  Meals and snacks, along with this year’s t-shirt will be provided.  Please join us if you can.  No need to rsvp.

There will be much to do the weekend before the convention.

Convention help will be needed from Monday – Friday, July 27 – 31.  We have varying shifts and levels of activity needed.  If you are able to help, please choose a day or days, please provide the days you can be there, the hours you are available and any physical limitations you might have.  We are looking for people who can be here every day, only one day, or anything in between.

The main qualification for the synod convention work is a smiling face and a servant’s heart – MLS has a wonderful reputation for being warm and welcoming and you are an important part of it!  Thank you in advance for your willingness to help!

Breakfast (Monday through Friday)

6:00 AM – 10:00 AM shifts

Lunch (Monday through Thursday, Friday to be announced)

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM – serving – lots of moving and action
10:45 AM – 1:45 PM – watching tables, busing tables, attending to individual needs, lighter activity level

Supper (Monday through Thursday)

4:15 PM – 8:00 PM – serving – lots of moving and action
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM – watching tables, busing tables, attending to individual needs, lighter activity level
4:30 PM - 7:00 PM - watching tables, busing tables, attending to individual needs, lighter activity level

If you know of someone who would like to be a part of either of these volunteer events, please pass on the information. Information has also been sent to our Michigan District churches, but word of mouth is a wonderful tool in spreading this request.
