International Students
Look to the back wall of our chapel and you’ll see a row of flags from around the world. Each of those flags represents one or more MLS students that have attended or are currently attending MLS. We rejoice that God has blessed us to carry out the command, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15).
This long-standing international student program is an expression of our global and domestic mission partners in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS). International students at MLS typically come from families who are in contact with WELS or ELS missionaries. MLS works with international liaisons in these mission congregations around the world to facilitate each student’s enrollment in our Seminary Family.
The MLS International Student Program has multiple benefits:
- Traditional students are able to experience diversity and learn more about the breadth of God’s kingdom.
- International students receive MLS’s rigorous education and participate in American culture.
- Both foreign and domestic students get to make friends they never would have expected to make and rejoice in the fellowship of the gospel that transcends borders.
The Seminary Family is truly blessed by its diverse student body!
