Welcome!

For more than a century our school has stood at the intersection of faith and formation, guiding young men and women to recognize their calling in Jesus. At MLS, students are equipped not only to enter college, but also to live their faith in today’s world as ministers of the gospel or congregation members who serve their families and communities. The impact of our ministry is felt in WELS congregations and schools across our nation and in the mission fields of the world.

This mission is supported with gifts from God’s people, like you, through your church’s Congregation Mission Offerings as well as special gifts. Your generosity makes it possible for us to promise that finances will not be the reason that a student does not receive a ministry focused, Christ-centered education at MLS. Together we have the privilege to invest in our children as we partner to encourage and equip students for the public ministry of the gospel.

Thank you for your partnership! Please reach out to me to learn more.
Loving and serving Him,

President Mark Luetzow

Support Our Long-term Plans

We have been given the task of encouraging and equipping high school students for the public ministry of the gospel. The Lord has called us to do that important work, and we trust that he will bless the good works that he has prepared in advance for us to do. Our strategic plan – Chosen People, Special Purpose – more precisely defines how we want to accomplish that purpose for the next three years. View the Strategic Plan here.

Learn About the MLS Foundation

The MLS Foundation was established in 2001 as a public charity to assist high school students financially as they train for the public ministry. The MLS Foundation also assists students by funding special programs and projects, underwriting non-budgeted items for the school, supporting international cross-cultural programs, providing financial aid to MLS students, and providing college scholarships to Martin Luther College. Support MLS

Thank you for your support of our program to begin the training on the high school level of pastors, missionaries, and teachers for the future of our beloved WELS and its congregations and schools. We are excited that the Lord continues to bring students to our campus who are willing to be encouraged to consider full-time ministry. We are thankful for the blessings that God has given to our recruitment efforts.

Leave a Legacy

Originally established as a seminary for the Michigan Synod, MLS has not wavered in its mission to train workers for God’s church. Since 1910, MLS has been a dedicated high school that encourages and equips students for the public ministry of the gospel.

Your partnership in this mission is invaluable. Your planned giving and estate commitments play a crucial role in sustaining and furthering our ministry for years to come. For that reason, Michigan Lutheran Seminary partners with the MLS Foundation and the WELS Foundation to support families in creating thoughtful estate plans that reflect their faith and values. Together, they provide guidance and resources to help families make meaningful charitable gifts that sustain Christian education for future generations.

If you would like to schedule a visit to discuss supporting MLS, please contact our Director of Mission Advancement, President Mark Luetzow. Office: (989) 793-1010 x 223 or mark.t.luetzow@mlsem.org. Donor Perspective

Mark Roekle is an alumnus of Michigan Lutheran Seminary and has supported the school throughout his life. He loves the athletic program and believes it provides great training for ministry.

Being single and having no children, Mark wants to direct all of his assets to ministry. He set up a revocable living trust with his attorney and financial advisor and is directing legacy gifts to MLS, his home congregation in Eau Claire, Wis., and other WELS ministries.

We are grateful for supporters like Mark who want to ensure that the next generation of students is encouraged for ministry and equipped for life.
